Love this book nook! Directions were clear and easy to understand.
I received the kit as a gift (and recently bought one as a gift for my sister). I enjoyed the process of creating it so much I was actually a bit bummed when I was done. The kit is thoughtfully designed with well-made components, and the instructions were easy to follow. I love the end result and I look forward to the next minialley design.
Directions were easy to follow
I love the musical Sweeney Todd, and the "Dreamy Alley" kit was perfect for customizing to the theme! I painted some of the buildings and made new signs and props. Although I didn't use most of the furniture and greenery, I'm sure I'll find uses for them in other miniatures. I hid the fairy lights that came with the kit in "clouds" to keep to my Victorian London scene. The instructions for this kit are very clear and easy to follow. The wiring seems a little intimidating at first sight, but turned out to be very easy to assemble.
I made several additions and substitutions - really came out great!
This kit was an absolute dream to work with. I had Mini Alley customize the red sign and the sign above the window on the left. I used dimensional magic to make the cobblestones 3D, and then dabbed them with nail polish remover to dull the shine. I painted the cats and crocheted a tablecloth. I painted a few other things and generally messed around until I was done. Great quality, excellent directions, and one very happy booknooker. I am very pleased with the finished result.
Loved building this book nook! The little parts are worth the extra time because the finished product is gorgeous. Every part is such high quality.

This is a stellar kit that absolutely lends itself to customization. I themed mine to Nightmare Alley and took this kit to a whole new direction. I loved the thicker boards in the kit, the realistic perfectly scaled cats, the new-to-me lighting technique that worked flawlessly first try, the ability to arrange the insides of the kit to suit my preference rather than the manufacturer's and the copious amounts of supplies in the kit including a tube of B7000. I love that the kit is made in America. I'll be watching closely for MiniAlley's next nook! Love this kit and this company. Oh, and almost to forgot to mention how they answered every single question I had.

This was a fantastic kit! I had so much fun making it. The pieces are all very high quality, the instructions are clear and in full color, and the customer service is impeccable. I can't wait for more kits from Mini Alley!
This one was a nice change from the usual snap together types. I usually hate making plants, but this one only had 3 paper and wire type plants that I had to make(I only did 2) and the others used dried flowers, static grass, and glue which I found much easier and somehow more satisfying to put together. I changed the color of the fairy lights, some windows and other details, and then added random stuff. There's an extra cat, a mouse, a snake, a few crows, 4 or 5 butterflies, a rock, and a little sand. I may have forgotten some, but it was fun finding space to stick random stuff.
This is my third kit from MiniAlley and will definitely not be my last. The quality of the kit is second to none. Each piece fits together fantastically and the level of detail on them is outstanding. The tie in with the game is a seriously nice bonus.

Really solid build, presses out without breakages and a nice mix of male it yourself bits. You will need a high tack repositionable glue like UHU or B7000 to construct it as it is not a snap together build. They recommend white glue but honestly its too slow to grab. The instructions are pretty good. Not a fan of the toggle switch but the actual wiring up is way easier than twisting or soldering tiny wires together. The mystery app ($1 extra purchase) is very cool! The 3d print is very rough especially the grey cat. The book covers are very well done. I took the time to paint the exposed edges - colour matching using Marie's acrylics and a gold uni paint marker. Over all an easy enjoyable build with a perfect evocative atmosphere. Btw we call alleys "laneways" in Australia

If you're even thinking about getting this kit; stop thinking and just do it. I had an absolute blast building the Dreamy MiniAlley, and I'm now fully convinced I need an entire bookshelf dedicated to tiny whimsical real estate. The level of detail is insane—like, “how did they make something that small look that good” insane. Every little piece felt intentional and beautifully designed. The materials are high quality, nothing felt flimsy or cheap, and the finished product genuinely looks like a work of art. The hidden puzzles gave it such a fun twist—it's like building a scene and uncovering a mystery at the same time. It kept me so engaged I completely lost track of time (and maybe forgot to eat dinner, worth it). It fits perfectly on my shelf and never fails to get compliments. Friends come over, spot it tucked between books, and suddenly it's the conversation starter. I might be turning into a miniatures-obsessed recluse—but at least I'll be doing it surrounded by tiny glowing alleyways of joy. Highly recommend for anyone crafty, curious, or even just craving a little escape into a world you build with your own hands. Also, the price is really low considering the quality of this kit.
This was so fun to put together! Pictures don’t do it any justice; it’s stunning in person!
Super cute!!! Took me a few hours but I couldn't stop once I started. The only thing that I didn't like were the little hanging plants. They were incredibly difficult to put together and hang. I ended up not using the monstera one because I just don't think the stickers look good. I wish they were replaced with tiny fake plastic or wood plants.

Bought the DIY version of this lovely book nook, arrived within the window of dates expected. The outer box containing the items was not protected outside of a bubble wrap and it arrived in slightly rough shape, but its content seems unaffected. Excited to start working on it!
I Love this Book Nook!
Everyone that's seen this in my shelf has been amazed. The instructions were clear and I had so much fun building it.
Putting this together was so much fun! Everything is proportional, looks great, and fits together easily. Nothing felt cheap or snapped. I got the “Bearly Art Precision Craft glue” with the tiny metal tip to help me glue some things together, other more fiddly bits were better suited for gorilla super glue. The glue to moss ratio was off by quite a bit for me, but I still don't mind the look of it. I somehow managed to flip some of the wires for the battery pack, so sorting that bit out was the most frustrating part, but when I figured it out, I felt quite accomplished. I also Kickstarter backed their new “NeoRamen” kit and I'm looking forward to building that one too! I'd recommend this to anyone, it was great fun!

Seriously so detailed. The instructions walk you through the whole process very clearly. There is a ton of room to customize some of the finer details however you prefer!
This book nook deserves a review. The amount of thoughts and details that went into making this possible is amazing. The angled mirror creating a perspective of a curved alley and text (on the sticker) being flipping to make it look correct when seen through mirror was excellent. The string lights along with the moss on top made it look really good at the end. Few things to mention: - This wasn't super easy and hence it is not the best for kids. Perfect for couples to spend the weekend. - It required a lot of additional stuff if you want it done perfectly. Super glue + White glue + Scissors + Tweezers + Batteries + Screw driver. - We didn't compromise on anything and so it took us quite long. - The only part where instructions weren't clear was related to cutting a silver wire. I ended up cutting it incorrectly but fortunately there was some extra. Tips: - The length of the string lights is important. Do it as close as possible to what is said in the instructions. - Do not glue the bookcase and the furniture before gluing the left wall. Just follow the instructions. - Do not avoid the lights. Lights are 80% of the reason it looks so good.
The result is stunning! The parts are beautifully crafted. I only gave it a 4 because it's not super challenging, and most of the items are already finished. I would have loved to be able to stick more paper details to the wood items, since they're all finished except for the books. I also wish I could make more items from scratch, also there's no fabric, which I love to include in my miniatures. The lights are bright and beautiful, and the flower pots were the only items, I really enjoyed putting together. The flower selection is exquisite! For the price they should have included a dust cover
Very easy to assemble, not frustrating like a lot of these can be. So cute when done. I got it done in a few hours. High quality, even the lighting wasn't as daunting as i thought it would be.
